In the beginning it took me awhile before it sunk in just how absurdly busy Jack was with everyone and everything that was SOFREP. I was a sucker to the fact that every time I sent Jack a FB IM he fired right back, and not in grunts, but full-up expounded sentences.

I noted quickly that Buck too did most of his operations solo, as he was well versed in the same fine that I too have mad skills in; that is, the ‘art of multi-tasking way too much by yourself because you have no assistance’. Buck steered with his knee, operated a hand-cam with one hand, checked Google Maps for route recon with the other hand, and rooted through travel debris with his… third hand. I was in good hands.
This truck stop is a petrie dish of all seething and unclean things the city brings to bear. It is constantly rife with the nation’s nomadic gypsy trash wandering in, and staggering out. I would say the top five most most detestable things I have seen in my civilian life were perceived at that truck stop.
