The New York Times editorial board beamed with their headline, […]

No, the US isn’t abandoning the Kurds in Syria

“The Kurds have no friend but the mountains,” as the old saying goes. Yet there are few mountains in Northern Syria, where the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) formed a coalition with Arab militias called the Syrian Democratic Forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The […]

MH-6 Little Birds and MH-60 Black Hawks helicopters buzzed downtown Los Angeles this week as a part of a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) training exercise. Spectators observed the helicopters landing operators on building rooftops, then later setting down to pick them up at street level. Presumably, the training scenario involved the operators assaulting from […]

US military intervention in Venezuela won’t look like Operation Just Cause in ’89

In a recent interview with Face the Nation, President Trump was asked, “What would make you use the U.S. military in Venezuela? What’s the national security interest?” This question came not long after National Security Advisor John Bolton was photographed holding a yellow legal pad on which “5000 troops to Colombia” was written. President Trump […]
