Joseph Alba

Joseph Alba is a full-time college student living in Northern Idaho with a distinguished 20-year military career. Raised in a small Texas town, he graduated high school in 2003 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2004. Motivated by the book Black Hawk Down, he set his sights on the elite 75th Ranger Regiment and went on to serve as an Infantryman in 1st Ranger Battalion. During his 12 years as a Ranger, Joseph completed 10 combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and graduated from numerous advanced military schools. Always seeking new challenges, he attended Warrant Officer Candidate School and transitioned into aviation, flying fixed-wing aircraft including both the Dash 7 and Dash 8. His aviation career also took him to South America for an operational rotation as a Dash 7 pilot. After two decades of service, Joseph was medically retired in October 2024. He is now focused on his family, education, and writing. He is married and a proud father of five children, ranging in age from 1 to 18.
